Egg is used as a binding agent in many baking and batter making techniques.
Here are some vegan binding alternatives.
Vegan eggs in baking
Grounded Flax seeds
You can use high speed blender or coffee grounder to ground the seeds
- 1 table spoon ground flaxseeds
- 3 table spoons water
- let it sit for 10 mins before use

Vegan soda bread
Mix dry ingridients with wet ingridients
Dry Ingridients
- 600 grams of 100% whole meal flour
- pinch of salt seasoning
- 20 grams (one and a third tablespoon) baking soda (sodium carbonate)
- Add seeds, sunflower, pumpkin, sesemi, 2 tablespoons each
Wet Ingridients
- Almond rice milk (any non dairy milk), 300 ml (~50% of flour)
- Flax egg
- Lemon juice - Baking soda needs acid to rise
Bring the dough together and bake 200 for 30 mins
